FOGO Specs Matrix
BPI / CMA Approved
Pre-validated under Compost Manufacturing Alliance (CMA) guidelines to ensure seamless acceptance across regional FOGO industrial windrows.
90-180 Days Industrial
Maintains structural seal integrity on retail shelves, yet degrades entirely within municipal windrows under standard high-temperature (140°F) conditions.
Fluorine-Free Barrier
Manufactured without PFAS, raw fluorine, or harmful chemical coatings, guaranteeing non-toxic residues in finished agricultural topsoils.
Grade A BRCGS Cleanroom
Co-extruded and laminated inside certified cleanrooms, preventing heavy metal or foreign particulate contamination in organic collections.
5 Common Compostable Packaging Problems (And Solutions)
1. Low Barrier Protection
Pain Point: Moisture and oxygen can easily compromise product freshness in standard bio-plastics.
Solution: High-Barrier Compostable Films engineered with advanced bio-metallization to block moisture and oxygen.
2. Poor Seal Strength
Pain Point: Weak seams cause pouches to burst during transit or handling.
Solution: Advanced Heat-Sealable Bio-Polymers ensuring robust structural seal integrity comparable to traditional plastics.
3. Premature Degradation
Pain Point: Packaging begins to break down on retail shelves before the product is consumed.
Solution: Controlled-Decomposition Engineering that maintains stability during shelf life and only degrades under composting conditions.
4. Non-Compliant Certifications
Pain Point: Greenwashed materials that fail municipal or industrial composting standards.
Solution: BPI and CMA Certified materials guaranteeing verified compliance with strict composting regulations.
5. Inferior Print Quality
Pain Point: Faded colors and poor graphics due to incompatible eco-friendly inks.
Solution: Digital High-Fidelity Eco-Ink Printing delivering vibrant, shelf-ready aesthetics without sacrificing compostability.

What Certified Compostable Packaging Can NOT Promise
- NOT compostable everywhere. Industrial composting access is limited in most regions—many US cities have no facility that accepts certified packaging at all. If your customers are nationwide, recyclable mono-PE is often the more honest default, and we make both.
- NOT inclusive of the BPI logo. Our materials carry BPI (ASTM D6400) certification, but printing the BPI mark on your pouch requires a separate BPI logo sublicense at roughly $3,000/year, paid to BPI—not to us. The budget alternative: state "industrially compostable, made from BPI-certified materials" in plain text, which needs no sublicense.
- NOT guaranteed acceptance at any single facility. Local operators set their own sorting rules and can reject certified items. Confirm with your target facility using the directory above before committing to a film structure.
- NOT a backyard-composting solution. These structures need sustained high-temperature industrial conditions to disintegrate. If your customers compost at home, ask us about TUV OK Compost HOME structures instead.
Verify the material on your own line first with the $40+ sample kit (credited to your first order), or talk to an engineer via /support/contact.
